- Will the marriage be recognised overseas? Yes, Australian civil marriages are recognized internationally. You may also obtain an Apostille stamp if required by your home country.
- NAATI Translation: All non-English documents must have an accredited English translation.
Requirements for this Service
1. Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)
Completed and witnessed by an authorised overseas person (Notary Public or Australian Embassy official) and sent to Imam Abu Hurayra.
2. Passports & Birth Certificates
Original passports and divorce decrees (if applicable) sighted upon arrival in Sydney.
3. Two Adult Witnesses
Two witnesses aged 18+ present at the ceremony venue in Sydney.
